Neverending request for i18n key

Sometimes a request for a i18n key ends up in a neverending call, spamming the log to eternity and beyond when debug logging is enabled.

This needs to be investigated for performance issues, too. A user reported that SPC uses more and more resources the longer it stays open. It is possible that the two are related somehow. I need to investigate this with jProfiler and try to reproduce this behaviour.
